Derek Welsh has spent many years touring and writing and recording music.
In the corporate
world, he has worked in all areas of the music business. Derek
became interested in world blindness when he was asked by the Volunteer Eye Surgeons
Association to write a song (Tommy's World) describing the need for a worldwide
project to address the world's 20 million curable blind due to cataracts.
Welsh's
latest publication, Strange Dreams, (Miami International Press) is a 157-page
volume of poetry. He also wrote and taught the popular course, "Putting Your
Words to Music" most recently at the National Writers Association Conference
at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL.
Derek Welsh
holds a BA in business from Auburn University. Born and raised in Miami, Florida,
he currently lives in Tennessee
